When Anya’s husband mysteriously falls ill she has no choice but to seek the advice of the old Crone who lives in the forest. The Crone explains that the illness is a curse from a winter demon known as the Leshiy, and the only way to save her husband is to invite the monster into her home. She then must steal a pouch from his belt, and poison the demon with the contents of the pouch. However things do not go as planned, and she is soon faced with having to eat the poison herself in order to save her husband’s life.
