The grand Hollywood Theatre in 1926. There is no other movie palace like it!

We’ve booked the amazing Hollywood Theatre to host the 1st Annual Portland Horror Film Festival™ on June 1st and 2nd. As the venue for the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival®, which we have directed since 2011, the Hollywood Theatre is the perfect location for horror. Built in 1926, and featuring a unique nearly Byzantine façade (before the age of Art Deco kicked in), the Hollywood is the haunted centerpiece of Portland’s Hollywood district. Did I just say haunted? Yes, I did. At least two spooks regularly enjoy the darkened 1920s ambiance in this beautifully restored movie palace. The theater features three auditoriums, and is one of the only theaters that can boast of being able to show not just modern digital films, but also 16mm, 35mm, and 70mm! It was the only place in town to catch Chris Nolan’s Interstellar on its limited 35mm run, and Quentin Tarantino’s 70mm print of The Hateful Eight. Now, it will be the only place to see serious independent horror from around the world.

Be there, or BEWARE! Portland Horror Film Festival is June 1-2, 2016 at the Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97212.
