Submissions are OPEN for the 2019 Portland Horror Film Festival!

The 4th Annual Portland Horror Film Festival™ takes place June 5-8, 2019 at the beautiful Hollywood Theatre in Portland, OR. You could see your film on the big curved 60ft screen, in front of a sold out audience of horror fans! Our previous festivals have featured special guests like Barbara Crampton, Amanda Wyss, and Chris Walas, plus guest judges that include producer Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator), director Richard Stanley (Hardware), and producer Gregg Hale (Blair Witch Project).

Film submissions are now open through our submission partner, FilmFreeway.

We’re looking for new short and feature films of all Horror genres. We love monster movies, occult horror, slashers, home invasion, vampires, folk horror, paranormal scares, found footage… you name it. HOWEVER, in all cases we’re looking for films in those genres that show us horrors we’ve never seen before. Fresh takes on tired themes, new talent, new ideas, and scares where we don’t expect them.

We love daylight horror, creeping woodland dread, urban frights, and anything else that will define the new generation of horror, particularly horror from diverse voices: foreign horror, women directors, student films, LGBTQ filmmakers, and more! The world of horror is wide, the experience of fear is universal, and new voices define the future of the genre.

Submit your film to us through FilmFreeway by the following deadlines. Because early submissions makes our job much easier, the earlier you submit, the more discounted submission fees are.
